A LITTLE MORE ABOUT B.R.P.

The company has established an Electric Vehicle Development Center in Canada, which will focus primarily on the powertrain—specifically the charger and battery pack. BRP is currently developing its own Rotax modular electric propulsion technology, which will be used across all its product lines. Consab worked with BRP throughout the project, first supporting existing partners in the design phase through a design-assist approach. The team then oversaw the complete construction of the cleanroom and support areas, managing every stage of the build. Consab also coordinated the mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and ventilation work, as well as all other required trades, ensuring a seamless execution that met the project’s strict requirements.

SPECIAL FEATURES AND CHALLENGES

  • To speed up the launch of the new production line, BRP had to install its equipment while construction of the cleanroom was still underway, carrying out this work in parallel with the installation of the assembly lines. This extraordinary challenge required rigorous on-site organization, as active areas and construction zones coexisted in real time, demanding meticulous planning at every stage.
  • With exemplary coordination and agility among the teams, the simultaneous nature of the operations required constant communication and a high degree of flexibility from all parties involved. The Consab and BRP teams worked closely together, adjusting work sequences on a daily basis to meet each other’s requirements without ever slowing down the overall pace of the project.

  • With ongoing adjustments required around equipment already in place—some of which had been positioned on the job site even before construction was complete—Consab’s teams had to demonstrate remarkable operational flexibility. Work sequences were constantly reassessed to ensure efficient progress without damaging the existing equipment, while staying on track to meet the delivery deadlines agreed upon with BRP.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness through final handover, the coexistence of active construction and sensitive production equipment required strict sanitation protocols throughout the final phases of the project. Every intervention was closely supervised to prevent any contamination, ensuring that the cleanroom was handed over to BRP in impeccable condition, ready to begin operations from day one.

“We had a cleanroom project that needed to be completed as quickly as possible, with minimal impact on our production line. Consab provided us with outstanding support on a turnkey project, enabling us to begin battery production at our Valcourt plant. Thank you to the Consab team for their collaboration on this project.”
